TRYING to get FIRM

I didn't realize how out of shape I was until I tried to work out yesterday. I was drenched with sweat and my arms and legs felt all rubbery afterwards. I think my muscles were in shock from actually being USED. I have that nice, sore feeling in my arms, legs and booty today that proves that all my flailing around yesterday was for something.

The last time I worked out was before I got pregnant with Jacob - almost two years ago. I bought "The FIRM" workout, which came with 3 DVD's, the step platforms, a workout calendar and meal plan. I found it to be a really good workout but was always frustrated because I had a little two year old trying to climb the step platforms while I was trying to workout. I thought that now that Katelyn was older, she could be in the same room with me as I did my workout and it wouldn't bother me. Was I wrong, buddy! The experience was just as frustrating as two years ago, only this time it was due to her commentary:

"Mommy, are you SWEATING??"
"I'm bored, all you almost done yet?"
"Don't forget your things [3 lb weights befitting a "beginner"], Mommy. You're supposed to hold those things."
"Are you going to play with me now?"
"Ew, your face is wet."
"This is boring."
"Let's play Guitar Hero!"
"Do you need water? You should get water."
"Can we go downstairs now?"
"What are you DOING there on the ground?"
"I'm hungry."

It was the longest 40 minutes of my life.

Oh geez! I was hoping it would get better with my daughter too in a few years :( I am in the same out of shape boat. I raked up leaves in the back yard last week, and I'm STILL sore :(

Here's to us getting back into shape...without losing our minds!

That would not be what I would consider a good cheerleader right there. Yikes!

I know how you feel (kinda)-- every time I do anything just a little bit harder than usual, I get sore for a day or two. It's a good gauge for where my usual activity level is at that time

I can only imagine how it would go if I was doing some kind of formal workout during the day while they wanted to play. I think I'd have a lot more questions than statements, which are probably worse.
