Alfred stayed up late the other night, catching up on my blog. I think he's read a post or two in the past, if my daughter happens to leave it open to my blog page on the laptop, but it's not something he goes out of his way to read. I was surprised when he told me that he stayed up to read all my posts. He doesn't really get my addiction fascination with blogs. When I talk about the funny thing I read on so-and-so's blog, he kind of just smiles and nods his head. I'm sure half the time he tunes me out after he hears the word "blog". I know that I'm not the best writer in the world - especially compared to the other fabulous blogs that I'm addicted to I like to peruse on occasion. But I do my best to capture some of our life moments in writing. Alfred was actually surprised by my writing skillzzzz, albeit rudimentary. He was so impressed by how many adjectives I know. I think the reason why he was so surprised is because I tend to ramble and go on tangents when I tell stories verbally. Oh wait, I do those in my blogs too. Never mind. Well, maybe the reason why he was surprised is because I try to keep it "short and sweet" when I tell him stories. I've come to learn that, with most men, you really have to give the short version or else you lose your audience. That being the said, Alfred doesn't usually get all the rich detail (hahaha) of my stories. Or maybe I just never mentioned to him that I used to LOVE to write when I was a teenager. He knows about my love for reading but I haven't dabbled in writing since high school. See? After nine years together and six years of marriage, we are STILL learning about one another! Amazing!
Speaking of learning about one another and being amazed, Alfred impressed ME last night when he stopped to do this move as he was walking by.
Oh yes, he did! We were all watching So You Think You Can Dance on DVR. Alfred got up from the couch to get something in the kitchen, and as he walked in front of us he busted the move. It was awesome! That is why I love this man. He never fails to amaze me.
Alfred told Desiree that he could also do the "flare" if she moved the coffee table and recliner chair. Desiree kept asking if he was serious and Alfred would only shrug and tell her she'd have to move the furniture to find out. She started to move stuff around but then stopped and said, "No, you're going to tell me your kidding once I've moved all the furniture!" Alfred wouldn't say "nay" or "yay" so she ended up not moving the furniture. Shucks! Now we will never know if Daddy can really do the "flare"!

AHHH! Blogger just ate my comment :(
I said:
WOW! No video? No picture? hmph :( I'd be totally impressed to if my hubby busted a move like that!
That is so sweet he read all of your posts! My hubby just lurks every now and then and doesn't tell me.
Sandy - maybe if I get enough requests for video post, I can talk him into it! *wink!
you two were always the perfect couple...you need to take the show on the road...forget the baseball Al...you need to hit the dance class with us! We will revive the cabbage patch and the pony, then you can go from your flare into a nickle....word...LOL! j/k Sher you can write the press release cool! for real....can i be the agent?
Liza619 - you are hired, girl. we're going to be the first hip hop dance family. literally a family. that's huge, right? never seen THAT before!
Oh, you have mad skillz! No doubt.
My hubby tunes out when I mention blog, too. But I know he reads mine -- he'll slip sometimes in conversation and mention something that I've written about, but haven't talked to him about. I get him every time!
He read all your posts?? Now that's what I call LOVE! Your hip hop family will be like a modern day Von Trapp family. Just a couple more rugrats and you're all set. =)
wow thats quite some move! oh i am so addicted to the show too! but i have to DVR it bec i can't stay up that late anymore. also its surprising but my husband will go and read my blog entries randomly too!
I want a video.. :) that is awesome.. it is funny because my husband has yet to read my blog and always makes faces when I mention the word blog to him. ;)
I can't believe he pulled that. Seriously? That's crazy mad skillz. I'm impressed you let him read. I don't want mine to know what goes on in my blog.
My wife reads my blog and the blogs who comment. She and the kids are my worse critics.
I would love to see Alfred do the flare and other moves...Reminds me of the "clubbing" days.
My husband read my blog, once . . . once. I can tell that because I have one reader who read one time in Iraq according to my Google Analytics. Heh.
Other than that, I refuse to tell my family members I have a blog - otherwise I can't talk smack about them!
